A/W Lipstick Wish List

A/W Lipstick Wish List
Hi everyone.. One of the main reasons that I love Autumn/ Winter is the fact that it is much more acceptable to wear a bold lip! I am not a nudes girl at all so the thought of stocking up on new bold lip colours is very exciting.

Top: MAC - Diva / Yield to Love / Girl About Town

As so many others, I am a huge fan of MAC lipsticks. The colour range is huge and there are several finishes, there is a lipstick for everyone (not to mention they smell AMAZING). Two of the MAC lipsticks above are in the permanent collection, the two on the edge. The one on the left is Diva, described as an intense reddish- burgundy is a matte finish, such a gorgeous winter colour. The lipstick on the far right is Girl About Town, not a typical A/W colour but every time I am in store I have to swatch it.
The lipstick in the middle is called Yield to Love, described as a mid toned rose colour. This is part of  'A Novel Romance' collection coming to the UK and Ireland on the last Thursday in August.. Which means its already available! I have never been drawn to a MAC collection but I can't wait to swatch all of these products in store. You can check the collection out here

The two bottom lipsticks are both from the drugstore. Black Cherry by Revlon was huge last A/W and I can see why! It is a dark red with a hint of purple which looks really scary but when you swatch it it looks much more wearable. It is a high shine finish so I can't imagine it would last too long..

Lastly we have Sleeks True Colour Lipstick in Vamp. This product looks like a very good dupe for MAC - Diva as it is also a dark brown with red and its also has a matte formula! This product is the cheapest of all retailing at €5.99, about €10 cheaper than the MAC lipsticks. I have yet to try any lip product from Sleek but I hope to try some out very soon!

What is your go to lip product for Autumn/ Winter?

My AWFUL Experience with LovingDresses.com

My AWFUL Experience with LovingDresses.com
Hello everyone!

A bit of a negative post today, but it needs to be done because if I had read a post like this before I ordered from LovingDresses.com I would have saved myself a lot of money.

Just as a background, I was invited to a debs (like a prom) so I was looking for an evening dress that wasn't unbelievably expensive. I had ordered an evening dress twice from Fanny Crown in the past and have had the best experience with them and their service so I was naively confident about ordering a dress online. After searching online for a few days I came across the website LovingDresses.com.

Long story short, I bought this dress. My order came to €123.46 which I was happy enough with as I had high expectations for the dress. In fairness shipping was very fast, my payment went through on the 18th of July and the dress arrived on the 22nd but that didn't excuse the product that I got.

As you can see from the image above, the dress was nothing like the image on the website. The colour was completely different, the material was completely different and the beading was also completely different! The quality was really bad too. As I studied consumer rights in school I know that the product shown must match the sample and this dress in no way matched the sample. To make it worse the dress was way too big even though I measured myself according to their sizes and we got a €55 customs charge at the door! At this stage I was slightly angry, more upset than angry to be honest but the worst was yet to come as their customer service was AWFUL.

I just wanted my money back at this stage so I kindly asked for it back, letting them know how disappointing their service was but towards the end of my dealing with them I just got so angry.. They just wouldn't give me my money back so I eventually gave up, probably what they wanted. Have a read of our conversation below..

So yes I got a pitiful €52 back, nothing compared to the €178.46 I paid overall. I am sickened with this company so if you are thinking of buying a dress from this company, DON'T, it's not worth the hassle. The dress may look like it has good reviews but they don't post the ones over 4 starts, I wrote several and none have made their way onto the website. If you ever are going to buy something like this online, don't make the mistake that I did, really do your research about the company, you'll save yourself the money!

Have you ever had an experience like this?

Thanks for reading!

Beauty Haul | Duty Free Purchases
Hello everyone!
As you may know I was in London last week and as I had a bit of cash left over by the end of the holiday I decided to go splurge in the duty free.

I don't normally buy anything in duty free, aside from the odd perfume but as I needed some new skincare products I had to go to the Clinique counter. For years I stuck to my Simple products, I just didn't want to sway away from the products that pretty much kept my skin looking ok however I felt that there was so many more products on the market that it was silly to not branch out a little. I have heard a lot about the Clinique 3 step system so I decided to give it a go. As I have semi oily skin I went for the 3rd clarifying lotion. If you haven't a clue what I am talking about, basically the clarifying lotion comes in different formulas to tend to different skin types. I was dying to try this brand because I had never really tried higher end skin care products before and Clinique just seems like they know what they are talking about! Anyway, I pricked up this set, the Daily Essentials kit. It contains the Liquid Facial Soap, the Clarifying Lotion, the Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel, the Take Off the Day Makeup Remover and the All About Eyes Cream. I picked this kit because it was only £35 and I only wanted small sizes of the products as I didn't know how my skin would take to this new skincare routine! I will be sure to update you all in a few weeks to see how my skin looks and feels after using these products. All of these products can be found on the Clinique website here.

It would have been rude not to hit the MAC counter.. I had been eyeing up the paint pots for ages but I never got around to buying one. I really wanted a neutral one for a base, Painterly or Soft Ochre but I was way too indecisive as to which one suited me more but when i saw 'Bare Study' I fell in love with it! It is a champagne colour and it is so creamy. However now I am slightly regretting my spontaneity because I realised it is almost identical to another cream eye shadow I own (keep your eyes peeled for a comparison post.

Lastly I had to repurchase the Benefit Porefessional. I ran out of it a few weeks ago and I have been missing it ever since so I had to repurchase. I use it every day because it does such a good job at blurring my pores so I thought the price was justifiable.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this mini haul!!

Have you picked up any beauty bits lately?!

Exam Results Celebrations | OOTN
Wednesday the 13th of August this year was possibly the most anticipated day for so many fellow anxious Leaving Cert students across the country. It was the day I got my results of my exams I did last June which determined if I got into university or not in a few weeks.

I won't say much about what results I got but I will say I was over the moon! I think people get to bogged down with grades but as long as you do the best to your ability, thats all that matters. It was such a surreal feeling, although most of my friends did better than me, I cried with happiness because I knew I did the best that I could, something that I never had experienced before as I am constantly comparing myself to others.

After the huge anti climax of getting the results we hit the town to celebrate and this is what I wore! I wore this black playsuit from River Island with my clutch from Penny's / Primark and my usual heels from Topshop. I recently bought heated rollers so I tried them out for the first time on my hair that night. I think I need some practice but wow they give your hair some volume! My watch is Marc Jacobs, my ring is from Brandy Melville and Barry M's Blueberry is on my nails.

If you got your results I hope you were happy, but if you were disappointed just remember, there are ways around everything and these exams aren't the end of the world!

The Top Ten Tag

The Top Ten Tag

Hello everyone! I haven't done a tag in what seems like months so when I was tagged to do the Top Ten tag by Cliona I knew I had to do it.

Just a side note, if you don't read Cliona's blog already, you really should. She's such a lovely girl who blogs about beauty, fashion and lifestyle. You can tell she puts so much effort into her posts and photos so I thought she deserved a bit of a promo!! You can find her here at www.clionahill.com
Anyway, on to the tag!

1. Foundation
This is a tough one, I have far too many foundations. When I am buying makeup I am always drawn to foundation which has resulted in an unnecessary amount of them. Due to the fact that I love far too many I decided to cheat and tell you about two? For nights out my go to is the MAC Studio Fix Fluid. It has medium to high coverage and just makes your skin look flawless. The only bad thing is the girl colour matched me to NC20, which is really dark for me so I can only wear it when I have tan on. For everyday I love the Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation which is a powder foundation. It's so light on the skin it feels like I'm not even wearing foundation! I reviewed it here if you are interested.

2. Powder
My go to is the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. I'm no expert on powders so when I heard hype about this product I just said I'd buy it because I needed something to set my foundation!

3. Concealer
One of all time favourite products, my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. As I suffer from awful under eye circles, I decided to fork out the money for this product and it's so worth it! It doesn't crease and really high coverage so it helps cover my under eye circles.

4. Blush
As I always think I have such rosy cheeks, I never buy or wear blush.. That is a bit of a shameful statement as a beauty blogger but oooops.

5. Bronzer
My absolute favourite bronzer is the Sleek Face Contour Kit in light. It's really cheap and doesn't come out orange, a win win really!

6. Highlighter
In my opinion you can't beat MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle. It is quite a dramatic highlight but I love it! I only use it for my cheekbones because I think it is  bit much to highlight anywhere else but I love it regardless.

7. Mascara
I have gone through so many mascaras but in my opinion you can't beat a drugstore mascara. There are so many available and a lot of them are so much better than high end ones! My pick is the L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic mascara. This gives me more length than volume which I love.

8. Eye shadow
My favourite eyeshadow palette (is that another cheat?!) is my MAC palette. Although it is expensive, it's so worth it! I love having the ability to choose my own combination of eyeshadows out of such a huge selection. If you want to see what is in my MAC palette you can check it out here.

9. Brows
Hands down, Soap and Glory Brow Archery. I think I talk about it enough on my blog so I won't keep going on about it, but if you haven't tried it out yet, DO IT.

10. Lip product
Kate Moss 107 is amazing! I am more of a red/ bold lip lover so it's a tough one to choose my favourite but this has to be my fav.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

A Little Trip to Brighton | OOTD
On a recent trip to London, Lizzy and I couldn't resist taking a little day trip to Brighton. In recent months, I feel like so many YouTubers and bloggers have moved there and I can definitely see why.

On the day we went the sun was splitting the stones and the town was bustling with locals and tourists. It had such a great atmosphere and it was such a cute little town that I couldn't help not sharing some photos with you all, as well as showing you what I wore.

We took a walk along the coast, strolled around the lanes and visited the beach huts, as well as lounged in the sun in the deck chairs on the stoney beach. We couldn't have asked for a better day to visit Brighton! If any of you get the chance to go, take it, I would love to return for a few days to fully experience this beachside town.

My dress is from H&M, my shoes are from New Look and my bag is from Urban Outfitters(old) incase you were wondering!

Barry M Gelly Hi- Shine Nail Paint in 'Sugar Apple'

Barry M Gelly Hi- Shine Nail Paint in 'Sugar Apple'

For some odd reason, a few weeks ago I got the unnatural urge to go out and buy nail varnish.. If you know me, you'd know that I am no nail expert. My nail varnish collection consists of about 10 polishes and you don't see a huge variety of colour on my nails as I generally stick with black or Fiji by Essie. However after taking a look at the gorgeous colours from Barry M this season and feeling inspired by the lovely summer weather I just had to pick one up.

The one I bought was 'Sugar Apple' which is from the Gelly Hi- Shine range. As the name suggests, the finish is high shine and very smooth to apply. 'Sugar Apple' is a light blue/ sea foam green colour but in my opinion it is perfect for summer. This colour took 3 coats to achieve to make it completely opaque.

Although the colour is gorgeous, it does have to be topped up every two days or so. If you aren't very careful it starts to chip pretty quickly! Its drying time is pretty average, I didn't find it too slow to be honest.

Overall I really love this colour and I'm sure I will be running back to Boots very soon while my nail varnish kick lasts as they have some other gorgeous colours in the range!

Do you like the Barry M Gelly Hi- Shine nail paints?

What's in my Travel Makeup Bag

After browsing through my old posts I came across this exact post, written almost a year ago when I was about to go on a school trip to Berlin, Germany (which ended up being such a fun trip). As today I am feeling very nostalgic I decided to update you all on what is in my travel makeup bag.

I am also doing this post because myself and Lizzy are heading to London! I have never travelled on my own before but I am sure the whole trip will be fantastic (expect some very exciting posts too).

Enough rambling, lets get into it!

For foundation I am bringing the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation and for lighter coverage, the MAC Prep and Prime Beauty Balm (which i reviewed here). To apply the Tarte foundation I am bringing my Tarte Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush, these are new products of mine however I am loving them so far. For the BB cream I am bringing my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge because I can't bring myself to open and use the Original Beauty Blender that is waiting in my makeup collection.

I have yet to come across a primer which I love (apart from the Porefessional which I recently ran out of) that really makes a difference to the appearance and hold of my makeup. As I have been loving radiant skin lately, I decided to bring my L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer which makes your skin look like its glowing!

For powder, the Rimmel Stay Matte because to be honest, it's the only powder I have however I have recently turned off it because I was informed that it has really harmful ingredients in it.. I think I might be looking for a new pressed powder in London!!

For concealer, my favourite MAC Pro Longwear which I talked about in my recent favourites post here.

Moving swiftly onto brows, one of my favourite products which I feel like I am always raving about, the Soap and Glory Brow Archery.

I love highlighters, but I am bringing along my holy grail, MAC Soft and Gentle Mineralise Skin Finish. For bronzer, I'm bring my sample of the Too Faced, Chocolate Soleil Bronzer because it's compact.. and the fact that it smells like chocolate helps too.

Moving onto eyes, my mascaras of choice will be the Covergirl Clump Crusher and my mini They're Real mascara by Benefit because they work really well together.

I feel like I have finally figured out the They're Real Push up liner by Benefit, so that will be coming along however if for some reason I can't work it again, I need a back up eyeliner so I am bringing the NYX The Curve Liner, which I have been loving lately.

For eyeshadow, I'm bringing my Stila 'In the Light' palette, my current favourite because it has 8 very pigmented warm toned eyeshadows.

Lastly onto lips.. A girl can never have too many red lipsticks right? I am bringing my Sephora Lip Cream in the shade 01 and my favourite lipstick at the moment, Kate Moss 107

I hope you enjoyed this post! What is your essential makeup product for holidays?

July Favourites

July Favourites
I feel like I say that the month has flown by in every monthly favourites, but the months really are flying in! It baffles me that we are closer to next Christmas than we were to last Christmas... However that still is a good few moths away so without getting ahead of ourselves, lets get on with the favourites!

It took me so long to get this product for some reason, but when I went to America I couldn't pass it up. I heard so many people saying 'it's just like the Collection concealer but it doesn't crease' so I couldn't wait to try it. It is a very high coverage concealer which is perfect if you are like me and have awful under eye circles. My only complaint that I have is the packaging.. It has a pump which is really hard to control so it can be a waste of product as too much comes out every time.

My new love! Very gorgeous warmed toned eye shadows that are so pigmented. In my opinion this is comparable to the Naked palette! I have been loving the eyeshadow 'Kitten' which is a pink toned champagne colour.

I decided to surprisingly branch out this month and buy nail varnish. I tend to stick to black or red but maybe it was the good weather that possessed me to buy a summery colour? I would say this is like a sea foam green colour, sounds awful but it's really pretty I swear! It's slightly more vibrant than what it looks like in the picture but perfect for summer.

Apologies for all of my readers not in the US, but I had to include this candle! As soon as I heard that there was a candle that smelled like the Abercrombie and Fitch cologne I had to get it. The rumours are true, it makes my room smell heavenly! As far as I know you can get it in the UK here (you're welcome!!).

What are your July Favourites?
